- Average speed of traffic should be between 25 and 45 miles per hour
- Located on the "going home" side of the street
- At least one block from a traffic signal or stop sign
- Located on a non-divided roadway (no median) with easy left turn access from street
- Access to a side street or alley sign visibility of at least 500 feet
- Neighborhood shopping centers, discount department stores, grocery stores and local traffic
- Avoid heavily traveled transient traffic locations
- Gas, city water and sewer
- Lot must be zoned for car washing (may need special use permit)
- Stacking room for cars behind each bay
- Lot should be wide enough to place building parallel with street
